Hmm.. no idea about the color, the solid pale blue is kinda plain, so maybe some form of shading or gradient. Blue and grey are the theme of the wiki so I guess I wouldn't necessarily change the color. If anything maybe something to capture the colors from the logo?
Edit: Maybe the text/wording white to fit the Wiki Name color scheme?
As far as sections go, I don't think the caption is necessary... Status and the others are ok (notable traits is okay but I might would reword it, I'll think on it though)
I thought you would want more sections on infobox so it would be informal like other supernatural shows wikias have.. If you thought of colors and sections, message me sometime and I can research (when I have time) on templates for style.
Hey I saw the new layout colors, just a suggestion, I think the link colors need some tweaking and get another color/or use background image for the layout if possible because it almost looks like Supernatural's wiki site..
I read an interview with Sarah Ramos that they (the interviewing party) reports it will be a "summer" show.
Not sure about the titles... I've seen them on imdb as well but no other source (until spoilerTv) however, they also used Parisa's tweet to "update" the episode order number and the link above doesn't cite where they get the info either. Seems like pages could be created as place holders until they synopsizes are released.
Alright. But are screencaps really necessary for a trailer? Are we gonna be doing this for every trailer? I guess I'm thinking ahead for when this wiki becomes really active, and the show premieres, it'll be busy, and screencaps for every trailer will become a hassle. You already started on this new trailer, so there's no point in sopping now, but for the future, how are we gonna do this?
They must have faith in this show if they put it in a good spot. So that's reassuring. It also works out perfectly for bc TW comes back in the summer on Tuesdays, so that would've been inconvenient for me.

Fans shouldn't be bitter... it was a great ending
I agree, i love the ending and there's a window for a new story at the end so fans shouldn't be so upset, plus our craving might get quenched with Midnight Texas coming soon until such a spin-off were to happen.

Lol, way ahead of you. Already got them uploaded.
I do think we need a coherent naming system for promos, not necessary for the pilot sonce they are up but I dont think we need tk have promotional in it (like how I was capping).
I thought something like this as an example "Pilot 101-01-Manfred".
For screencaps I intend to follow the current naming system I use for TO. Or do you think including the character names can be spoilery? I know from spoilertv, they actually listed the cast with the photos, that is how I knew Connor was in one of the group images.
TVD/TO's format always confused me to a certain degree. There's some times this hyphen (-), other time this squiggly line (~) forgot what it's called. Even up above, I get "Pilot 101-Manfred" but what's with the extra "01" in the middle?
I think this would be good. "Pilot-101-Manfred" or "Pilot-1x01-Manfred" or "Pilot 101-Manfred" or any variation of this, but TVD/TO's image format just seems a bit extra
The ~ is used for those characters that are not clearly seen in the scene (ie back to the shot, blurred bkg, etc.) The Extra -01 was going to number the promo images i.e. 101-01 to 101-30 (I think that is how many were uploaded.
I've just grown accustomed to TVD format and figured I'd stick with it since I want to do the screencaps for MTX, though we can come up with a different system if you'd prefer?
Also, curious, where'd you fine the non-watermarked versions?
I do like having the names though, if it doesn't seem to spoilery.
Never really followed the Resident Evil films. I watch them sporadically. Sometimes if I ever see them on tv I watch, but I can't even remember the names of each one, let alone what happens, not like I can with Underworld.
Bennett Blood Mage18 wrote: ^I guess we need to decide if we want a promo section for character galleries though or keep them on the season/episode pages.
I think posting promo images in a character's gallery and season/episode pages (including the show page) would work if there are viewers who looks at a character's page for images besides looking at other pages that already has the promo images.
I agree with placing character promo pics in their respective character galleries, so that it can all be found in one place, but not sure how. Tabbers might be the cleanest way to do it. I've been meaning to work on the tabbers design
Tabbers will be fine and can be styled however, (I've not looked much into it but I don't really like the blocky look to them). I'm trying to view a few other (big) wikis to get idea on how galleries are composed example here for OUAT... smaller wikis usually don't have the dedicated users for such committed tasks... (Delena is doing something similar with the episodes being sectioned off within the tabbed seasons on TVD.) Example would be for the S1 page here for conventions, if it could be sectioned off into sub sections for Comic/Wonder Con, etc., etc., then it would eliminate the need "See More" to get down to something farther along or if you're only interested in a certain episode's worth of images for a certain character gallery. I'm still playing around with ideas and looking towards other, unique and favorite wikis of mine for a unique blend that can be utilized here.
I'm open to suggestions.
Kev, I know you're apart of a diverse set of wikis (are there any commonalities or unique features employed?)
Side note: I know I want to do caps for MTX. I like having them on the episode pages and for them to be used elsewhere on the wiki. I've not decided on numbers... TO, I've been avg. 140 "meaningful" (? not sure if a passerby-er would claim that) images and my hope would be that a majority of them would be used in many various aspects (though I may try to scale it back for MTX). --This is also dependent on if I can find a suitable dl for it once it airs though, preferably in 1080p.
Other side note: maybe it's just me but I really like images, you know an image for any occasion. Some wikis I visit just seem to blend with globs of text summaries and no images or they are hidden away in galleries or the lack thereof.
The gallery set up for OUAT is cool, especially for a show that has multiple seasons but I dont know what you mean by section off the conventions.
None of the wikis I'm on really come to mind when thinking of a unique gallery format. I'll look around tho.
Never knew you guys went by a limit. When I did them for TW, I just took screenshots of the exciting moments, and any moment I thought was worth capturing. Whatever number of images I had at the end, I went with. I dont think I ever went past 50-60 images. Maybe I'm just lazy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do prefer images in summaries and on articles but they're typically towards the bottom of my list as far as priorities around the wiki are concerned.
The subsections like how per season they have the episodes in their own section.
It's more a personal limit for me, so there's not an outrageous amount of images. It varies but I remember looking at one TO episode and they had 30 images for one scene between Rebekah and Klaus talking (where like 2-4 would have been more than enough to convey a conversation. I usually go between 2-4 images per scene, depending on what is happening therein.
It depends with me and what I feel motivated to do, or what I have time to do.
So here is an example with the promos and episode images contained in a Gallery. Thoughts?
Assuming, not every character will have a promo image of them for a certain episode, that can be re-worked under a single gallery (i.e. "Season one"), but this seems like a rather decent way to separate out the episode images.
I like format but are episode promotional photos really necessary in character galleries? Seems a bit redundant since we'll be doing screencaps as well of the very same scenes. I'm not saying we should remove the entire promo tabber. I think the cast promo pics under the Season One header should stay, but I think the promotional episode images are kinda unnecessary
Hmm. The character promos are so few though then the episode promos. Promo photos, imo, also look... idk different, more staged looking than capped photos. To me it's really apparent in the last season of TO.
I thought I would share a few that I compared here on MTX, promo versus capped image. Though they aren't exactly the same still, they just look different to me. Idk. I think this better describes my point promo versus capped.
What about leaving the promo tab and lump them all under a season one heading. Not every character will have a promo or I can remove the tab and have season one with the sub sections of promo, pilot, bad moon rising, etc...
It's overall still the same image with just varying quality but if you really want them there, then sure, the episode promos can stay. It's not hurting anything. We can go with the example you just gave for the format
I'll think on the promo pics. (I don't really see the need to only have 1-3 images for the character promos and not the episode promos. I was figuring that having that all on the associated character page, then if you were looking for a certain one, then you wouldn't have to go through each episode page.)
Also, I think I've gotten the coding right for the headings and article names. Any font in particular you want to go with. I added in a font in already just to see how it looked.
What are your thoughts on the SyFy UK poster? I think it's much more badass than the one we got. They're both badass tho. When I first saw it a couple weeks ago, I looked for it but couldnt find it. Thoughts on using it as the theme for the wiki if I can get it to work??
You can't see it? I added it to the main CSS. Follow the steps that match your browser (presumably google Chrome). Be sure to let me know if you have any fonts in mind. I'll be looking too.
I also find it odd that Creek and Bobo aren't in it. Weird af. That's almost the exact same pentagram design I used for the spoiler warning xD. I'll probably change the favicon to the pentagram as well.
Note: After saving, you may have to bypass your browser's cache to see the changes.
Chrome - Windows: Hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key. OS X: Hold both the ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift keys and press the R key.
Safari - Hold down the ⇧ Shift key and click the Reload toolbar button.
Firefox - Windows: Hold the Ctrl key, and press F5. OS X: Hold the ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift keys, and then press R.
Internet Explorer - Hold the Ctrl key, and press F5 (or click the Refresh button).
Left (Chrome), Right (Firefox) Though firefox, after I refreshed the page it's now like chrome. The blue shook me a moment, expecting it to be the font XP.
I can speculate on one of the characters (based on the book). Ha. But yeah, not with the other.
So far as the favicon goes... I do have a (good?) reason to keep (and well frankly to change it too). Midnight is situated in Texas, a.k.a. the "lone star" state. I rather like the idea of the star to represent this, as it's in the show title.
However, me loving magic so much, I rather like the idea of a pentagram too. XD
Edit: Since I see it's been changed, I think a black pentagram would be better suited, because the white makes it hard to see, imo.
My bad. I was just about to message you. I had to take down the font bc it was making it slightly difficult to edit theme designer due to the sizing of the font. Certain things weren't showing up. The font should be back up now. Try to reload the page now. Yeah. I was just trying to find a color that matched the wallpaper.
I always understood the lone star but since this they're going with the pentagram in the logo of the show, I thought that would be best. I'll change it to black.
Also, my bad again. You said 'so I have qualms with using it.'. I misread that. You didn't want the change. You want me to change it back to the old theme. I liked that one too. So, its no problem. The I was surprised by the blue comment makes more sense now
I changed the template borders. They're blue now as you can see in the links I gave you. But considering that you still see the gold border and you can't see the font, something ,ust be up with your cache.
I still can't see it on my PC. (I also tried my personal PC)... I can look at my tablet later today and see if it's apparent or not there as well. However, when I checked it out on a mac, I could see it. That's really strange to me. Really weird.
Do you have any kind of font changer extension installed on for your google chrome? If so, that would prevent you from seeing the changes to the wiki's font.
EDIT: I've updated the character infobox. Realized we didn't have a section for their age/birth. I also added a section for 'cause of death' considering there's already two dead characters (Xylda and Aubrey) by the premiere. Well, I guess four dead characters if you include Lemuel and Pia. Five by the 2nd ep if Rev really does kill officer Gomez.
Not that I'm aware of. Not sure it it helps, but I don't see it on mobile either. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'll look and see though and see if I'll be able to get it to show up on my end. I know when they were testing the header on TVD, I could be on one PC and it would show up the nEw header and another would be the old one, so I can't make heads or tells of it. Lol
I'm surprised we didn't have thst to begin with. Poor Tina, gonna rest in pieces lol.
Fyi, I'm working through a mock Timeline - I created a sandbox page to do it. I think for some days, I'll have to tweet Monica or the cast or whatever, but I know at least 3 months have pasted since Manfred's arrival and the final so that gives us a decent range to work with. Feel free to add or change anything that I may misinterpret.
Great idea. Looks good so far. That's one of the perks to having a werecreature on the show. You'll know how much time has passed from month-to-month. But the image of Lowry's file didn't read well on my screen. Too blurry. Maybe its clearer for you. So it says he was arrested in 2016. I can see several dates, but I cant make out any of the words nexct to the dates
No it's blurry. There are three dates, 1-13-2009, 5-23-2013 and 2-4-2016 and I can't really tell if the "Possession of a Deadly Weapon" and "Domestic Assault" are from the same arrest. The 2016 date is the only one not repeated, so I may have erred on the wrong date; i.e. arrested in 2013 and served 3 years and released in 2016.
I've asked Monica and hopefully she'll confirm a year. We were given very like in terms of when things occurred, but I figured using Lowry's arrest record was probably the closed to confirm something concrete. Still a work in progress though.
I hate how a lot of shows do this. Just make it easier for us, and add in a brief line in reference to the year. This is something I always go into a new show looking for; what year it takes place. If we're lucky, she'll answer.
No answer of yet, but I'll place a reference about the year.
Now that I think about a few other things. I don't think either day is correct, because the pilot had the "Annual FALL picnic" which by traditional calendar dates, would be at the earliest September... ugh. I thought I had something going but it could just be an error on the writing, because I know for sure that Shawn signed over the house to Creek in July (which is before fall; unless there was a larger span of time than three months.)... I'll have to contemplate this more.
Sounds like it may be an inconsistency. No way Manfred was in town from fall to summer of the next year. It just didn't seem that long. Incidents like this make it extremely difficult to construct a timeline.
Yeah. It'sdifficult but I think at least three Months is between his arrival and Colconnar's defeat is accurate.
I know between the first book and the third book, there was a lapse of time at least of one year. Fiji has an annual Halloween party in the books and they had to cancel it in the books because Colconnar's rising fell on Samhain.
I would have loved to have seen that. Personally given the progression of the book and the adaptation, Olivia and Lemual's wedding probably could have waited, though I believe it has a second purposes, namely to draw out her father.
With the BTS Halloween stuff they did, I had hope it would have been featured in the show too. Guess it was just cast fun times :)
I agree with postponing the wedding, especially since no one even knew it was coming. Random af.
Oh yeah. I remember those images. Would've been great if that had, but I'm hopeful for S2.
]I've seen that thing in action. Let me just say that experimental doesn't even come close to being the right word. That thing is full of flaws. Absolute trash. I know an admin of the 13RW wiki, and they asked for my help on something a little while back. It was then that I discovered how terrible this 'experimental' editor is. Its limited and difficult to operate, or at least it was the last time I checked. Users lost motivation in editing bc of how terrible the experiment editor is.
Yeah was completely random though, they partly explained it in the books, besides the fact that they do love each other and wanted to get married; there was another reason behind it. Which they may elaborate on S2.
Yeah I'm attempting to read more blogs on CC and keep up to date with a few things. That kinda seemed shocking, with the post that I saw, which made it seem like it was happening "soon" though Staff was commenting and there always the potential of failure from any experiment. Ha :)
I read that with 13RW, they temporarily created an alternate wiki/backup of it due to those affects it caused. I've not really explored it further as Staff do not/haven't released data or further info about it.
I hope they plan to elaborate, otherwise it was just random. There was no lead in to this. At no point in the season was there even a mention of marriage, especially since Olivia's aware of the dilemma that comes with being in a relationship with a vamp.
Same here. I try to keep up with the weekly updates when I can. Staff loves to try to fix things that aren't broken. There's nothing wrong with our current editor. Why change it? They say experimental now, but that'll change, and once they perceive that they have worked all one million and one flaws, they'll force it on every wiki.
That's true. Because the new editor is trash, the users couldn't get any real editing done, so staff was forced to make two wikis, one with the new editor and one with the current editor. They asked that users use both wikis, so that they can continue to get feedback from the new editor. They should just drop it IMO.
Well NBC canceled the Night Shift, another summer drama. The Carmichael Show had also been canceled. Still no word about MTX -thought this puzzles me a bit "The drama Midnight, Texas remains in consideration, though options on the cast have expired." not sure what that last part means... like their contract? Idk, thought I'd share anyways.
Damn. Another show down. Yes. That means their contracts are up. Things are looking bad. I guess you haven't heard that François Arnaud was cast for S4 of Unreal. Now, he could still do both, but odds of MTX being renewed at this point aren't looking good.
I had heard. Shae posted it on TVD, and I commented there. He also posted it here. Ratings are still pretty high compared to other summer lineups other than NBC's game shows and stuff. I'm still hopeful though that it will be renewed though.
