I just finished watching MTX on NBC's app. And I'm hooked! I loved all the characters unique traits and personalities, especially Olivia, Fiji, and Lemuel! I also love how they're incorporating a bit of law enforcement into the mix to spice things up a bit, lol. The grandmother was hilarious as well, but I also loved Fiji's bubbly personality even in the darkest of situations. But when her eyes turned red, I knew there was no messing with her! Overall, I really liked the premiere! I can't wait till next Tuesday when I can watch it online! :D
I was loving me some Fiji, Mr. Snuggly and Xylda! The premiere was simply AMAZING! Girl... Tina needs to step off of Fiji. Like That last scene.. chills, lol. I can't wait either. It seems like the episodes will be somewhat character themed as well. This was the intro and the next will be a Rev centric one. Another user pointed out that Angel Hearts, may be Joe centered as well. I'll hold my speculation for Fiji just because I've read the book, but I don't want to say one thing and then get tripped up because of adaptation or something XD
Figi will spell circles around Tina! She's been warned not to mess with Figi already; she was able to freakin' use telepathy and lift a police car :O ! That's already super awesome of Figi's character! And I loved the sassy cat! I call him Puss-In-No-Boots as his nickname because he's simply adorable on sight! I loved the ending of the episode where they were all introduced as well! I also found the Pastor's respect for burying deceased animals so fitting for his character. Is he called a werewolf or Lycan in the books?
Right!? Like she already knew that she could be a witch and then she saw the power she actually possessed. I want to see them interact again and see what that is like XD Lol, that's one sassy cat. Neither actually. He's a weretiger. Separate species from werewolf, though origins etc wasn't elaborated on.
I see some great potential for Figi; perhaps this show will do this witch character justice, unlike TVD did for Bonnie and their witches /: . Also, I've rarely read or seen a movie using weretigers, but I look forward to seeing his weretiger side. Hopefully the show will elaborate on both werewolf and weretiger origins.
I wonder if there would be some sort of rivalry between the werewolves/weretigers. That would make for an interesting origins story or something, lol. I would love to see more Figi and witches definitely. Also, I saw the synopsis for one of the future episodes. Vampires will be further explored too! I'm finally optimistic about this being a great supernatural show. I haven't been this optimistic about a supernatural show since Witches of East End, which aired around 3 years ago. So this update was definitely overdue for me and other supernatural/magic fans as well :D !
That an interesting thought. Without given too much away, I'd assume not as in the books, the Rev or another, called Mr. Snuggle "brother". It would seem to me that "weres" hold animals in high regard. I'd assume the same towards each other. Though werewolves were featured but once and it was more or least buying/selling something in the pawn shop in book 2. Trivial moment tbh.
It's definitely refreshing! I hope we get an early renewal. They are now promoting it as summer's highest rated premiere, so if the viewers are still there, I hope they renew it for a full season, or at least an expanded season like 16 eps or something. It should definitely replace Grimm.
I've been meaning to check out Grimm. Lots of supernatural fans recommended the show to me across the wiki. However, like GoT, I have yet been meaning to find the time to watch it, lol. Also, that's really optimistic news as far as MTX's future goes! I'm excited to see more from this show. Mobody expected TVD to last as long as it did, despite its downward spiral of a plot, lol. I hope MTX lasts almost just as long as TVD did, but minus the downward spiral of plot, lol. Aren't there quite a few books? I'm curious to see how this show approaches the books if it lasts. I want to check out the books if I ever find the time, lol.
Game of Thrones is an absolute MUST. (Just don't get attached to any one character). Lol right. It went down hill and most fans stuck around just because they came that far. Possibly doing that with a couples shows right now lol. But Yeah I'd be happy if MTX went as long as Grimm (I recommend that too)
Three books. The first season is a combo of elements and plots from books one and three. Monica's also said or tweeted, I remember linking it for Kev in one of our many messages, that if we get a season two, it would pull from book two. There are only the three books though Charlaine as said that if her publisher approaches her to write more, she would, but currently has no plans. I enjoyed them. Audiobooks are good. I found one for the third book and its ~13 or so hours I think. Can listen to it in a day or so depending on what you're doing.
Loved the second episode as well of MTX! I just finished it and I'm really glad they explored more of Figi's magic, Lemuel's/a vampire's strength and abilities, and especially the weretiger! It reminded me of the good old days of TVD and the introduction werewolves had on the show. And I'll definitely try to get the book series on my Kindle to try and read them whenever I can!
